Where can I collect my rider's pack?

Rider pack collection information will be provided closer to the 2022 event.

When do registrations close?

The closing date for 2022 registrations will be confirmed soon.

Do children need to be accompanied by an adult?

Yes, it is recommended that children under 15 years of age should be accompanied by an adult in their event, on event day.

Is anyone conducting bike checks?

Information will be provided closer to the 2022 event.

What's the Virtual Ride?

In 2021 we conducted a virtual event parallel to the tradition edition.

There were two ways to get involved;

  1. Enter our 25km ROUVY eRace, held on Sunday, the 1st of August, at 4pm EST.
  2. Complete any distance and send us your results, via a smartphone, GPS, smartwatch or other device.  We’ll then run your results on the leaderboard on our website.

Do you have an Event Booklet?

Yes, it will be released closer to the event date. As an example, you can view the 2021 Event Booklet online here.

What happens if I enter, but can’t ride?

If for some reason you can’t participate, you can transfer your registration to a friend at no cost, just contact us at

If you can’t transfer it and want a refund, you can do so before 24 July for just a $10 admin fee. 

How do I buy merchandise?

When you register online, you will be given the opportunity to purchase either or both of these, just click the green + sign to add the amount to your cart. 

If you have already registered, simply go back online here to purchase more items, like gloves, socks, bib knicks etc.

The official jersey is included in the 145km and 109km rides.

What is available at the finish line?

You’re encouraged to stick around the finish and enjoy the festival atmosphere.  There will be music, presentations and of course cheer on other competitors as they finish their ride. 

Join us at the Precinct for a meal - included for all Full Fondo entrants, or purchase online.

Are there aid stations out on course?

Yes, there are 4 aid stations on course;

AID STATION 1: Located at Pit Lane Liquor, at approximately 21kms

AID STATION 2: Located at Hopewell Rd/Cox Penninsula. Note this is for Full Fondo riders only, at

approximately 60kms

AID STATION 3: Located on Elrundie Road out the front of Marlows Lagoon, at approximately

120kms for the Full and 45km for the Half Fondo.

AID STATION 4: Hidden Valley Road, approximately 10km from the finish line for the Full, Half and Fun Fondo riders.

Post event meal

Due to COVID-19 regulations, we are no longer providing a brunch at the finish line.

Riders in the 145km and 109km events will still receive a packed meal from The Precinct, included in your entry. This will be provided at the finish line.

Who gets a Jersey?

All participants in the Full Fondo, 109km and Virtual events will receive an official events jersey.  There are also a limited number available to purchase for $70 online. 

How can I enter?

2022 entries will be open soon.

Who can enter?

Anyone can enter, regardless of age, ability or how new your bike is.  A Fondo is not a race, it’s a ride for all levels.  The only proviso is that your bike is road worthy and passes the checks by our mechanic.  But it can be a road, mountain, hybrid, fixed wheel, tandem or bmx, the choice is yours.

Who organises the Sunbuild Top End Gran Fondo?

The event is owned by Darwin Cycling Club. Each year a committee is assembled to organise the event, led by Epic Events and Marketing who is engaged as the event manager.
